(About BRS)
Big Red and Shiny is an online Journal about contemporary art and
culture. Based in Boston, we commission and publish articles, essays and
reviews that explore the theory, history and reception of art in its
current conditions, by experienced writers here and around the globe.
Additionally, we use the web-platform to showcase original multimedia
content in the form of short documentaries and time-based artworks. We
welcome collaboration across disciplines and contributions by
author-artist teams. Our Journal need not always be journalistic: we are
interested in bold and thoughtfully-expressed ideas, as reflected in
the artwork that stands alongside.
